The DuPage County awarded a $75,000 grant to the Wheaton-Warrenville Early Childhood Collaborative so it can launch Bright & Early DuPage, an initiative that is meant to help at-risk children "become more prepared for kindergarten," according to the Daily Herald.
The collaborative is an effort by the Wheaton-Warrenville Unit School District 200 and several local agencies, according to the article. The Daily Herald reports the number of low-income students in District 200 rose from 8.5 percent in 2000 to 7.3 percent in 2013.
