Woman, 97, Critically Injured in Thanksgiving Night Hit-and Run
A Wheaton man, who was driving the vehicle the 97-year-old was in at the time of the crash, was also injured.

Authorities in Aurora are asking for the public’s help as they try to track down the driver who caused a crash that critically injured a 97-year-old Aurora woman on Thanksgiving night.
The crash occurred at about 7:55 p.m. on Nov. 24 at the intersection of Asbury and Saratoga drives on the city’s far east side, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department. A 48-year-old Wheaton man was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt south on Asbury when a vehicle, which had been northbound on Asbury, veered into the southbound lane and struck the Cobalt head-on.
The impact of the crash forced the Cobalt into a 2009 Honda Accord, which was parked and unoccupied on Saratoga.

A 97-year-old Aurora woman, who was a front seat passenger in the Cobalt, was airlifted to a suburban hospital after receiving treatment at Rush Copley Medical Center, according to the news release.
The driver of the Cobalt and a back seat passenger, a 73-year-old Chicago woman, were both treated at Rush-Copley for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The offending vehicle, which witnesses believe was a white pickup truck, was last seen traveling north on Asbury.
Aside from the vague description of the offending vehicle, police have no other information including the number or other identifying characteristics of its occupants, Aurora police said Monday.
