Woman Dead After Fire Fire Breaks Out In Winfield Condos

WINFIELD, IL — A woman, 81, died Friday after she was injured in a fire that broke out in a condo complex in Winfield.

Firefighters were called to the 0N100 block of Windemere Road just after 4 a.m. and were able to get five residents out of the condos safely. The woman, whose identity had not been released as of early Monday, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
