Woman Faces 59 Felony Charges for Identity Theft: Wheaton Police
Karolina M. Klambatseas of Schaumburg was indicted on several felony and misdemeanor offenses following a Wheaton Police investigation.

A 34-year-old Schaumburg woman faces 59 felony offenses and 31 misdemeanors after authorities unraveled a string of identity thefts dating back to May 2015.
The Wheaton Police Department took Karolina M. Klambatseas, of the 40 block of Wisteria Lane in Schaumburg, into custody on Dec. 21 continuing a financial crimes enterprise. On Jan. 12, she was indicted on the 59 felony offenses and charged with 31 misdemeanors, which included theft, identity theft and financial institution fraud, according to a Wheaton Police Department news release.
The arrest and charges came after Wheaton Police Department detectives conducted an exhaustive investigation into several reported instances of identity theft that began in May 2015, according to police.

The investigation revealed Klambatseas in possession of dozens of stolen identities, some of which were used to obtain bank accounts, credit cards and loans in the victims’ names. It is alleged that she obtained some of the victims' identities while working as a loan processor for various mortgage companies, according to the news release.
