Woman Thwarts Pickpockets At Whole Foods In Wheaton: Cops

They tried to grab a wallet from a purse that was inside the victim's cart.

WHEATON, IL — A woman was able to retrieve her wallet after it was snatched from her purse at a Whole Foods in Wheaton. Police say the attempted theft took place Sunday afternoon at the store located at 89 Danada Square East.

According to police, three males "surrounded" the victim and attempted to distract them and grab the victim's wallet from inside a purse that was sitting in her shopping cart.

The suspects attempted to flee with the wallet, but the victim grabbed her wallet back before they fled, according to Wheaton Police Lieutenant William Cooley.
