Woman Woke To Find Intruder In Home On Thanksgiving: Wheaton PD

A 22-year-old woman told Wheaton police she awoke early on Thanksgiving to find an intruder inside her home.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton police say a 22-year-old woman woke up to find an intruder inside her home in the 600 block of North Stoddard on Thanksgiving.

Police were called to the home around 6:45 a.m. by the woman, who said a man she did not know was inside her residence. She said he fled west from the home after she confronted him.

The man did not take any items from the home and did not harm the woman, according to police.

A K-9 officer was brought to the scene to help locate the suspect, but their efforts were not successful. A detailed description of the suspect was not available at press time, but police say he was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up and gray sweatpants.
