In Skokie, a string of vehicle burglaries happened overnight one night at the beginning of April. A majority of the burglarized vehicles had a window broken and easily carried items and cash were taken.

In response to the incidents, authorities shared some tips to minimize vehicle burglary:

Victims of burglary were advised to call 911 immediately and wait for an officer to respond instead of confronting anyone. It's also best not to enter the car or touch anything until police respond to preserve evidence at the scene.
