Creator of protagonist Jack Reacher to discuss his experiences as a writer

Are you a Jack Reacher fan? Whether or not you’re a serious follower of author Lee Child’s protagonist, ex-Army cop, all-around tough guy, and one of the most intriguing heroes in print, you’re bound to enjoy hearing the best-selling thriller writer talk about his creative process on June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wilmette Jr. High School, 620 Locust Road. The program, sponsored by the Wilmette Public Library, is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Author Ken Follett describes Jack Reacher as “today’s James Bond,” and Booklist calls Lee Child “the alpha dog of thriller writers.” Mr. Child’s first novel, Killing Floor, was published in 1997. An immediate success, the book launched the author’s series about Jack Reacher and won Mr. Child both an Anthony award and a Barry Award for Best First Novel.

With more than 22 million copies of his novels in print worldwide, the Jack Reacher series has grown in sales and impact with every new installment. Personal, the nineteenth and latest novel in the series, simultaneously debuted as a number one bestseller in all English language countries. Make Me, the twentieth book in the Reacher series, will be published in September 2015.
