Its 12 a.m. I don't know what time it is back in Chicago, but I'm beat. I definitely smell bad, my neck and my back are feeling....well....awesome. BUT who gives a shit.
I'm in Singapore.
Finally made it. I'm in the air-conditioned taxi right now. Had a bit of trouble trying to communicate to the taxi driver where I was going. Not as easy as my mom reassured me that it would be. I'm hoping the girls are awake. The girls (are the two live in maids my auntie Linda has). I dont know what I'd do if they didn't answer. But I called them from the driver's cell phone. All is good. The radio is so fuzzy haha. My phone doesn't work.

But, you know what? It's cool. I'd rather stay disconnected from my Blackberry for a while.
This taxi driver has no fucking idea where we're going. I guess addresses mean nothing here. But if you say, 43 Blair Road, the house across from SGH hospital and next to the white house with two flags, you're understood perfectly. A 40 dollar cab ride later, I finally arrived at Linda's doorstep. It was surreal to have my suitcase in hand, purse slung around my shoulder and looking down Linda's street. I remember everything about it. The smell is just like I thought it would be. The heat; unbareable. I'm sweating so badly. GOD I'm sweating. I cannot wait to explore tomorrow. The house is just like it was, some furniture moved around, but not much has changed.

The girls welcomed me and hugged me like it hadn't been five years since we last saw each other. What I dont remember is how hot it is inside the house. Maybe they don't have the A.C. on because Linda, Flip and Jackson are on vacation till the middle of July, or maybe I don't remember it being this hot in here. You would think a $5.6 million home would have A.C.
Woops..just found the A.C. Turning it on right now as I write this. Because who likes to go to sleep hot; no one. I have the entire fourth floor of Linda's house to myself. I feel so incredibly spoiled. I have major jet lag. Right now it's like late morning in Chicago, but here it's like 2 a.m. Uh-oh. I'm going to be wonky for a couple days for sure. Which means since I have to go to work tomorrow at 9 a.m., I'm going to end up crashing really hard by 2 or 3 p.m. everyday. Maybe with the adrenaline from the first day of work, first full day in Singapore, I wont feel the jet lag at all? I'm going to try and fall asleep now. Hopefully ill be able to wake up in time for day one. I'm so happy im here.
P.S.- Did I mention how hot and humid it is??
