'The Christmas House' Plans Fundraiser for Lurie Children's Hospital
Mid-December event will keep up with tradition at the North Shore's most dazzling Christmas display.

WILMETTE, IL - The North Shore's best Christmas display is back for the season and will raise money for a children's charity during a mid-December event at the home many in the area simply refer to as "The Christmas House."
This year, the “Christmas House” on Cleveland Street in Wilmette will hold its annual Lightshow Fundraiser for Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago from 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 16. A special guest appearance from Santa Claus will be made during the event.
The amazing display that draws onlookers from throughout the region is the work of Steve Maris, a Christmas buff who’s been decking out his Wilmette home for years, according to a 2011 Wilmette-Kenilworth Patch feature on the family donating more than $1,000 to a children’s hospital that year.
