Daytrip to West Side Story

Lunch and performance at Drury Lane

A modern retelling of one of the world’s greatest love stories, Romeo & Juliet transfers to the mean streets of New York City. There are two gangs: the Sharks, a Puerto Rican gang grappling with the difficulties of assimilating into American society, and the Jets, the American gang resisting newcomers entering their territory. In the midst of this rivalry, A Jet, Tony, falls in love with a beautiful Sharks’ girl, Maria. Songs from this jazz infused musical include Somewhere, Tonight, I Feel Pretty and America. Lunch will be at Drury Lane before the play. Fee includes lunch, theater ticket, and transportation.

Meeting Wednesday, March 11 at 10:30am at the North Shore Senior Center in Northfield. To register, call the North Shore Senior Center at 847-784-6030. $89 member; $105 non-member.
