Go Green Wilmette Offers One More Bird Walk

There is one more opportunity to enjoy an inspiring bird walk- note: “Join us every Sunday in May for birding. The Illinois shoreline juts farthest into Lake Michigan at Gillson Park, making this an excellent spot to observe migrant birds and an important place for their survival as they rest and eat on their long journey north every spring. Bring your binoculars and join fellow bird enthusiasts every Sunday in May at 8:00 am to look for warblers and other colorful visitors. Both beginners and experienced birders are welcome. Meet at the top of the Wallace Bowl. “

On the third Sunday in May, Go Green Wilmette's Annie Wolter lead the bird walk at Gillson Park at 8am.  Lots of people came.  There were several experienced birders who patiently helped those less experienced.  A wide range of birds that included a shore bird (Plover), several warblers, an oriole, and two raptors perched on top of the Bahá'í House of Worship were spotted.
