• Wilmette Homeowners Honored For Restoring Frank Lloyd Wright's Baker House (patch.com) — Wilmette homeowners Amy and Eric Bauer are being honored with a 2026 Wright Spirit Award for their meticulous restoration of the historic Frank Lloyd Wright–designed Baker House on Lake Avenue. Their work preserves one of Wright's larger Prairie-style wood and plaster homes, spotlighting Wilmette's architectural heritage as part of a global effort to safeguard his legacy.
   

• Restoration of Village Hall fountain on tap for this fall (therecordnorthshore.org) — Wilmette's Village Hall fountain, a downtown landmark since 1976, will undergo a three‑week masonry restoration this fall after officials found advanced deterioration but sound structural footing. Trustees approved a $91,300 contract, saying repairs now are far cheaper than demolishing and rebuilding the fountain, which they don't expect to need for at least another decade.
   

• WLAX Announces Signing of Maeve Dwyer (gomarquette.com) — A Wilmette native and Loyola Academy lacrosse standout, Maeve Dwyer, is transferring to play for Marquette University after four seasons at Notre Dame. She brings an impressive high school resume, including a state championship and All‑American honors, plus collegiate experience as an attacker and draw specialist that local fans can continue to follow from afar.
