WILMETTE, IL (November 23, 2015) -- On Thursday, December 3rd, 1PM, Mather Place of Wilmette, 2801 Old Glenview Road in Wilmette, will open its doors to guests for a rare, insiders’ view of resident’s homes, not typically available for viewing by the public, during a Holiday Showcase of Homes event. Refreshments will be served and complimentary valet parking will be provided. The public is invited, but space is limited and guests are asked to RSVP by calling (847) 752-5297.

In order to satisfy increased demand for housing, Mather LifeWays recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of Mather Place of Wilmette with additions to existing amenities for the community, which originally opened in 1989. New amenities include an expanded fitness center; a cinema; an updated creative arts studio; expanded multipurpose spaces, a library with computer stations; an enhanced salon and day spa; and a glass-enclosed space linking two corridors to encourage exercise and group interaction and to bring more natural light into community spaces.

“This is a rare opportunity to peek inside several apartment homes, get a glimpse of the unique lifestyle at Mather Place of Wilmette, and hear the latest on our recent transformation and upcoming expansion,” said Elizabeth Rose, Sales Manager “The Showcase is a popular event because it provides people an opportunity to see how residents really live, in their own apartments, and ask them questions about rental retirement living, in a relaxed setting.”

Small groups will leave from the lobby, guided by a Mather Place of Wilmette team member who will answer questions, explain floor plans and resident amenities. Additionally, residents will be available to talk to guests and answer questions about life at Mather Place of Wilmette. Guests will be served refreshments and have the opportunity to ask any additional questions they may have.

The expansion is expected to be complete mid-2016 and will add 51 additional one- and two-bedroom apartment homes. Plans also include an indoor swimming pool, a bistro-style cafe, an all-season gazebo and newly landscaped courtyard.
