Mystery $4100 Bank Withdrawal In Texas, Identity Theft: Wilmette Police Blotter
Wilmette Police Reports Jan. 30-Feb.6

WILMETTE, IL — The following information is a record of action by the Wilmette Police Department during the past week.
IDENTITY THEFT
A victim at the 2900 block of Indianwood reported that sometime between Jan. 8 and Feb. 3 someone used her credit account to make a fraudulent purchase at a Water Tower Place retailer in the amount of $1275.37, even though she said she never lost possession of her Macy’s credit card.

A resident of the 1000 block of Chestnut reported that someone used his personal information for credit applications sometime between Jan 23. and Feb. 5. He told police the credit applications and store credit cards have since been cancelled and he requested this report for an extended credit freeze/alert.
FRAUD

A victim on the 1000 block of Ridge Road reported that sometime between Oct. 3 and Feb. 1 she had her wallet, day planner and other forms of identification stolen in Chicago and that on Feb. 1, in a possibly related incident, someone entered a bank in Texas and withdrew $4100 from her savings account.
RETAIL THEFT
On Feb. 3 between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., Officers responded to Carson Pirie Scott at 3200 Lake for a report of a shoplifter refusing to stop for loss prevention employees. Officers found Carson Pirie Scott loss prevention in the parking lot with the offender, and located stolen items inside the offenders backpack.
