• Wilmette Police Swear In First Electronic Detection, Comfort Dog (patch.com) — Wilmette residents now have a new four‑legged member of the police department: Gizmo, a specially trained electronic detection and comfort dog who will help find digital evidence and support crime victims. Working with a Wilmette police analyst and U.S. Secret Service partners, Gizmo is meant to strengthen investigations while also offering a calming presence during stressful encounters with law enforcement and first responders.

• Recapping our biggest Youth in Journalism Workshop yet (therecordnorthshore.org) — A Regina Dominican student from Wilmette joined dozens of teens in The Record North Shore's expanded Youth in Journalism Workshop, which offered stipends and hands-on newsroom training. Participants learned about ethics, media law, AI, and misinformation from local journalists and guest speakers, gaining skills to better understand and produce community news across the northern suburbs.
