Syd Rocks Hosts Live "Unplugged" Teen Auditions on June 5

Syd Rocks is auditioning local teen talent at The Rock House Glenview for an upcoming fundraiser called "Syd Rocks Unplugged"

Syd Rocks, a Wilmette-based not-for-profit that aims to educate, raise awareness and fund cutting edge-research for the treatment and cure of Langerhan’s Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), is seeking to attract Chicago’s top teenage musicians to audition acoustically for their annual fall fundraiser called Syd Rocks Unplugged.

Auditions will be held at The Rock House Glenview on June 5, 2016 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. in front of a panel of judges and live audience. Interested teenagers should email a two-minute video (smartphone video accepted) that best represents their personality and musical style, along with contact info to wrtilson99@gmail.com by May 31, 2016. Individuals (or small groups) that are selected to audition will be notified by email.

LCH is a little known, potentially fatal disease that impacts 1 in 200,000 children primarily under 10. Syd Rocks was created from the support and love that resulted from Wilmette-native Syd Martin’s personal battle with LCH. Established in 2008, Syd Rocks raises money through the sale of its signature Syd Rocks necklaces and other related merchandise, fundraising events, community activities and foundation sponsorships.
