Wilmette Teen Will Tilson to Perform at Chicago Bluesfest

15-year-old Wilmette resident and blues musician Will Tilson and his trio will deliver a performance at Chicago Bluesfest on Friday June 12.

15-year-old Wilmette resident and blues musician Will Tilson and his trio will deliver a performance at Chicago Bluesfest on Friday, June 12 on the Windy City Blues Stage, beginning at 11 a.m.

Backed by a powerful rhythm section featuring Joe Faught on bass and Ricky Nelson on drums, Tilson will perform old blues & soul classics with a new twist, as well as original songs.

In addition, he will perform at Space in Evanston, on June 10 with renowned blues artists Dave Specter & Jimmy Johnson, beginning at 8 p.m.

Tilson was recently showcased at the Neon Desert Festival in El Paso, Texas on May 24 where he delivered a uniquely personal performance. See stories on Will’s El Paso outing below:

Tilson was also recently featured at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis – an honor he earned by winning the Chicago Blues Challenge/Youth Showcase at Columbia College in Chicago last fall. The International Blues Challenge is the world’s largest gathering of Blues acts, filling the clubs up and down Memphis’ famed Beale Street.
