• Wilmette Big Blue Swim School Reopens With Updated Facility (patch.com) — Wilmette families can look forward to a freshly renovated Big Blue Swim School at Edens Plaza, featuring upgraded facilities and a more comfortable viewing area. The location is celebrating its grand reopening on Sept. 26 with free community activities, tours, and opportunities to learn about lesson options and sign up for a trial class.
   

• State money will help Wilmette improve fire stations, including gender-neutral updates (therecordnorthshore.org) — Wilmette's two aging fire stations are set for major upgrades after trustees approved architectural work funded by a $350,000 state grant. Plans include gender‑neutral private bunk rooms and new airlock vestibules to improve safety, air quality, and living conditions, which village leaders hope will also help recruit more women firefighters to serve the community.
