Woman Killed After Crashing Car Into Tree Saturday
An 81-year-old Skokie woman lost consciousness and veered into the opposite lanes on Lake Avenue before crashing.

WILMETTE, IL - An 81-year-old woman from Skokie was killed Saturday afternoon after crashing her vehicle into a tree near Lake Avenue and Laramie in Wilmette, police said.
A witness told police that the woman appeared to have lost consciousness while drving westbound on Lake, veered into the eastbound lanes and hit a tree at 2:33 p.m.
Life saving efforts from Wilmette police officers and firefighters were not successful.

The Major Accident Unit of NORTAF has begun an investigation, which caused the closure of Lake between Manor and Laramie Saturday.
