3 Cars Stolen, 11 Teens Cited For Beach Trespassing: Glencoe Crimes

GLENCOE, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe Department of Public Safety as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested by police in recent weeks. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges are often dropped or reduced. Everyone is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
BEACH TRESPASSING
Eleven people were issued citations for local ordinance violation after police said they were found trespassing on a private beach in the 300 block of Surfside Place at 9:49 p.m. Five of those cited were juveniles. The other six were all 18 years old men with five residing in Glenview and one in Northbrook. One of the 18-year-old Glenview residents was also issued a citation for marijuana possession.

FORGERY
Someone forged several checks totaling more than $500 in the name of a victim in the 1200 block of Longmeadow Lane, it was reported to authorities shortly before 10 a.m. on June 28.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
Someone stole cash from a residence in the 500 block of Washington Avenue, it was reported to authorities at 5:42 p.m. on June 29.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Sunset Lane and stole a purse containing cash and other items, police were told at 5:42 a.m. on June 29.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
Someone stole construction equipment that had been left on a lawn at a construction site near the intersection of Park Avenue and Grove Street, it was reported at 7:46 a.m. on June 29.
AUTO THEFT
Someone stole an unlocked Acura that had been parked in the 700 block of Greenleaf Avenue, it was reported at 7:49 a.m. on June 29.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
Someone entered an vehicle parked in the 700 block of Greenleaf Avenue and took cash, it was reported shortly after 8 a.m. on June 29.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
Four unlocked vehicles, all owned by the same person, were entered in the 1200 block of Fairfield Road with some items and cash stolen, it was reported at 8:36 on June 29.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Westwood Lane but did not take anything, police were told at 8:42 a.m. on June 30.
THEFT
Someone scammed a victim into purchasing iTunes gift cards and then never showed up at the agreed location, police were told at 5:26 p.m. on June 30.
AUTO THEFT
Someone stole an unlocked Lexus that had been left with the keys inside from the 1200 block of Fairfield Road, it was reported at 7:19 p.m. on June 30.
AUTO THEFT
Someone stole an unlocked Jeep that had been left with its keys still inside in the 400 block of Washington Avenue, police were told at 6:41 a.m. on July 1.
THEFT
Someone stole a bicycle from the 300 block of Jackson Avenue, police were told at 3:35 p.m. on July 1.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue and stole a backpack containing baby items, it was reported at 10:26 a.m. on July 1.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Pebblewood Lane and stole several items, including a cell phone and a garage door opener.
