The three newest members of the Winnetka Public Schools District 36 board of education were welcomed this month.
Kristen Hertel, Dawn Livingston and Jennifer Pehlke are replacing retiring board members Jon Kaplan (2009-2015), William Meuer (2011-2015) and Thomas Shannon (2011-2015), according to a district email newsletter from Superintendent Trisha Kocanda.

Hertel, Livingston and Pehlke will join Matthew Hulsizer, who was re-elected and Dana Crumley, Betsy Owens and Kendra Wallace - all in the midst of their current terms - on the board.
“Our new board members have already completed over 20 hours of orientation activities, including site visits to all five schools,” according to Kocanda. “This intense learning opportunity acquainted these new citizen leaders with the general operations of the District so they are prepared to begin their board service.”
