The 3rd Annual Photography Now exhibition opens Saturday, August 6, 5-7 pm at ZIA Gallery. This year’s exhibition features works by (pictured from left to right) Clyde Butcher, Bob Rehak, Ted Preuss, Lisa A. Frank, Kimberly Schneider, Bob Krist, Zoriah Miller, John Vlahakis and Barry Cain. ZIA opted for a more intimate group of exhibitors, so viewers can experience a greater breadth of expression from each photographer. As a brief introduction to the artists:

Clyde Butcher continues to use photography to bring recognition to the geological wonders and restorative powers of the land. Bob Rehak delves into the humanity of Chicago’s Uptown neighborhoods. Ted Preuss depicts a classic beauty of the female form while pursuing a fascination with photographic processes. Lisa A. Frank engages contemporary digital techniques to integrate elements from multiple photographs into remarkable compositions. Inspired by a specific area of the California coast, Kimberly Schneider shares her fascination through mysterious, long-exposure images. Celebrated National Geographic photographer Bob Krist reveals the love of discovery, through the eye of a world traveler. Tirelessly pursuing the life of a photojournalist, Zoriah Miller brings an emotional weight and empathy to his depictions of humanity and the human condition. The subtly tight compositions of John Vlahakis’ photography lend a quiet force to his subjects. A love of nature and travel inform Barry Cain’s work. From black and white to color, digital to silver gelatin, platinum palladium to tintype, diverse photographic processes, as well as subject, can be appreciated in this latest edition of Photography Now.

All are welcome to attend Saturday’s opening reception at ZIA Gallery, 548 Chestnut Street, Winnetka, Illinois 60093. The exhibition continues through September 3, 2016. www.ZIAgallery.net for more information about the artists.
