7-Eleven in Glencoe Likely to Close at End of Year
A 40-year run for Bob and Lesley Strauss may come to an end December 31.

The 7-Eleven in Glencoe’s Hubbard Woods Shopping Center will likely close at the end of the year.
Local franchise owners Bob and Lesley Strauss have done business at the location for 40 years, but told the Glencoe News property manager United Investors Inc. were unable to come to terms on a new lease. The last one, which was signed for five years, expires at the end of December.
According to the News, Bob Strauss “tapped into his his love for marathons” in assessing the situation.

“A landlord has the right to do what they want with their property, but as marathon runners, we normally know miles in advance when we know we are approaching the end,” he said. “There has been no dialogue. Lesley and I have come to accept it is the end of the store’s marathon. We have been fortunate through the years.”
