American Craft Exposition Celebrates Glamour in the Garden
The American Craft Exposition opens Friday, September 23 at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Craft Couture and more make for a stylish weekend.
A glamorous array of fashion from the artists at the American Craft Exposition (ACE) highlights the interactive nature of the 32nd annual ACE, presented by The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25 at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Wearable crafts including clothing, jewelry, handbags and other accessories will be on display during this walking fashion exhibition throughout the Garden during the show weekend.
Stop and chat with both the artist and models who can share creative tips for integrating one-of-a-kind pieces into your wardrobe. All of these hand-crafted, beautiful items are, of course, available at the show for sale.
The 2016 ACE Co-chairs Dana Turban and Debbie Kerr, both of Northfield, are honored to be leading this year’s event. “Our 2015 Show broke record attendance numbers, confirming that ACE continues to be the premier destination for art and craft enthusiasts and lovers of style and design,” said Turban. “Patrons can enjoy a day of meeting the talented artists, purchasing unique luxury items while also having an opportunity to access and enjoy the beautiful Chicago Botanic Garden.”

“We are proud to be supporting innovative pharmacogenomics research for the first time this year,” added Kerr. “Funds raised will allow researchers to analyze and predict how patients react to medications based on genetic variants. This information can be used to customize medical treatments, ensuring that patients receive the right drug in the right dose the first time, minimizing the side effects and adverse reactions to drugs for patients.”
ACE 2016 returns to the Chicago Botanic Garden, on Thursday, September 22 with a Benefit Preview Party from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. The Show runs throughout the weekend: Friday, September 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, September 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, September 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $13 for a single three-day pass for Chicago Botanic Garden members and $15 for non-Chicago Botanic Garden members, plus the cost of parking. Ticketing and parking packages can be purchased in advance online: $30 for a single three-day pass and $45 for two three-day passes. Both options include one day of parking at the Garden.
