Ancient Lamp Found Intact On Am Shalom Israel Trip
North Shore man makes archaeological find.

GLENCOE, IL — During a trip to Israel led by Congregation Am Shalom in Glencoe, Evanston resident and Highland Park native Jason Rosenthal uncovered an oil lamp that could be more than 2,000 years old, according to the Deerfield Review.
It was part of the Archaeological Seminars Institute's Dig for a Day Program. Am Shalom's Rabbi Steven Lowenstein led 17 North Shore residents along the 11 day trip through Israel as part of the program. He told the Review he has been on archaeological digs for 15 years and has never seen anyone make a find like the completely intact lamp Rosenthal dug up.
