This 90-minute walking tour visits sites that colorfully represent Winnetka’s history of astute urban planning, participatory government, progressive education, proud local businesses, and popular culture relevance. Our mile-long conversation begins in Chestnut Court, continues through the Elm Street and Lincoln Avenue business district, and loops back past the Community House, the “Home Alone” neighborhood, the Congregational Church, and Hadley. The tour runs from 1:30-3pm.
