Dara Levan is an author, speaker, and the founder of Every Soul Has a Story, an inspiring podcast in which she interviews guests from around the globe. Dara is the author of the award-winning novel, It Could Be Worse, and a contributor to the USA Today bestselling anthology, On Being Jewish Now. She is a graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in English and certificate in journalism. Dara earned her master’s degree in communication sciences and Disorders at Nova Southeastern University. Actively involved in her community, Dara is a board member of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation/Memorial Foundation, board trustee of Interlochen Center for the Arts, and involved in several other organizations. Join The Book Stall for a celebration of nature on July 25 at 10:30 am with a Saturday Storytime featuring Lake Forest author and former Wilmette teacher, Melanie Uteg and her chapter book series, Dung And Bo Go To School. Dung is bold dung beetle, who is set in his ways and Bo is a shy, yet adventurous rainbow stag beetle. They set off to explore different insect schools — meeting new friends and having fun school adventures. This interactive session will inspire kids to plant pollinator gardens, raise butterflies and protect our insects’ habitats. This event is great for children in preschool and elementary school, but open to all curious nature lovers!
Melanie Uteg is an author, educator and naturalist, who lives in the Chicago suburbs with her spouse and two children. Melanie divides her time between writing books with STEAM and civics themes and volunteering in her Lake County community. She is the author of Dung And Bo Go To School, a 6-book chapter book series.
