The tour begins at the corner of Maple and Pine Streets and follows a loop south and back north along Maple, Oak, Elm, Spruce, and Pine Streets. The Book Stall is thrilled to welcome to the store our friend Lindsay Currie&nbsp;on Tuesday, September 15 at 4:30 pm for an after-school discussion featuring her new book, The Secret Bookstore Sleuth Society. From #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Mystery of Locked Rooms comes a thrilling middle-grade cozy mystery. In this exciting series starter, four best friends are trapped in a book-themed inn during an ice storm and they must use each of their special skills, as well as a few tips from an armchair-detective grandma, to figure out who killed one of the regular customers. We'll have refreshments and some fun bookstore sleuthing of our own! Ms. Currie will be in-conversation with Wendy Parris. This event is perfect for kids ages 9 to 12.&nbsp;

Laura Fine for one last "Wine &amp; Whine" at the Winnetka Library, Tuesday, 9/15, from 5:30 PM-7 PM. After serving in the IL House &amp; Senate for a total of 14 years, Sen. Fine will be retiring in January 2027, but she'll be here to give us a rundown of the IL General Assembly Session of 2025-26 &amp; a preview of 2026-27. The Book Stall welcomes award-winning author Abby Geni to the store on Thursday, September 17 at 6:30 pm for a discussion featuring her new book, Children of the Wolf, in partnership with Off Campus Writers' Workshop and Kelly Q Anderson. A woman notices a pattern of men disappearing in her small town, reawakening memories of her childhood raised by a father obsessed with his violent Viking heritage. Amanda Peters, author of The Berry Pickers, says, “Abby Geni’s writing is evocative, the story is unique, and the ethical dilemma played out in the book will linger long after the last page. A truly great read!”
Abby Geni is a novelist and short story writer living in Evanston.&nbsp;She is the author of&nbsp;The Body Farm, longlisted for the Joyce Carol Oates Prize and the Story Prize;&nbsp;The Wildlands, a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize;&nbsp;The Lightkeepers, winner of the Barnes &amp; Noble Discover Award and the Chicago Review of Books Awards; and The Last Animal, a finalist for the Orion Book Award. Her short stories and essays have appeared in dozens of literary publications, including Best American Mystery and Suspense, The Missouri Review, Epoch, Ninth Letter, and New Stories from the Midwest. Geni is a faculty member at StoryStudio Chicago and a recipient of the Iowa Fellowship.

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing how we learn, work, create, communicate, and make decisions. Held at the historic Krebs Center for the Humanities, this five-week series offers an accessible introduction to AI while exploring the ethical, social, cultural, and philosophical questions it raises – through demonstrations, discussion, and real-world case studies designed to help participants become informed and thoughtful users of these emerging technologies. Each week will highlight a new topic and begin with a social reception featuring food and refreshments.
Both the educational content and social receptions will offer opportunities to build community, engage with College leadership, and learn more about ongoing campus initiatives.
