WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone scratched up the hood and driver's side of a car parked in the 600 block of Maple Street between 2 p.m. on Sept. 15 and 3 p.m. on Sept. 17, causing $4,000 in repair costs.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A resident in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue reported that someone followed them and made lewd remarks between 7:45 and 8:07 p.m. on Sept. 17.
FRAUD
A resident in the 100 block of Fuller Lane reported paying someone $4,500 between Aug. 27 and 31 to perform a home repair project that was never completed.

THEFT
Someone made an unauthorized withdrawal of $5,000 from the business account of a condo association in the 700 block of Green Bay Road. It was reported on the evening of Sept. 18.
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole an unlocked car that was parked with the key fob left inside between 6:50 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 2:05 a.m. on Sept. 19 in the 900 block of Pine Street.
CAR BURGLARIES/ATTEMPTS
- Someone rummaged through another car parked in the 900 block of Pine Street during the overnight hours of Sept. 18 to 19. There was no loss reported at the time of the report.
- Someone entered two unlocked cars in a driveway of the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue betweeen 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 2 p.m. on Sept. 19. There was no reported loss.
- An unlocked car parked in a driveway of 700 block of Foxdale Avenue was entered between 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 19.
THEFT
Someone stole two bicycles locked to a rack near the train station in the 700 block of Elm Street between 7 a.m. and 2:18 p.m. on Sept. 20 for a loss of $910.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
An employee at Crow Island School reported that someone did $500 worth of damage to the blacktop asphalt of the playground.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Jose D. Vazquez, 35, of the 5700 block of West Lawrence Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 2:17 p.m. on Sept. 20 at the Winnetka Police Department and charged with aggravated identity theft as a result of an investigation into a Sept. 9 incident.
A 66-year-old Deerfield man was arrested around 9 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the 0-100 block of Green Bay Road. He was also ticketed for speeding.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone keyed an SUV parked in the 700 block of Greenwood Avenue sometime before noon on Sept. 19.
THEFT
Someone stole a Trek bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 700 block of Old Green Bay Road.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 24-year-old Highland Park woman was issued citations for illegal transportation of alcohol, possession of cannabis and driving with only one headlamp when required following a traffic stop around 9 p.m. on Sept. 20 in the 1200 block of Sheridan Road.
Jerome T. Schmal, 59, of the 300 block of Laurel Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 10:52 p.m. on Sept. 20 and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop in the area of Green Bay Road and Jefferson Avenue. He was also issued three tickets for improper lane usage.
A 36-year-old Northbrook man was issued citations for possession of cannabis, possession of paraphernalia and no rear license plate light around 2:18 a.m. on Sept. 21 following a traffic stop near the intersection of Sheridan and Tower roads.
A 41-year-old Virginia Beach, Virginia man was arrested on a warrant connected to child support payments and issued citations for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis and not having rear license plate light shortly after 1 a.m. on Sept. 24 following a traffic stop near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Lincoln Avenue.
NORTHFIELD
INCIDENTS
ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 300 block of Wagner Road reported around 6 p.m. on Sept. 19 that someone had damaged a glass door in the back of the home. The resident believed it may have been caused by landscapers and police verified it appeared to be accidental.
CAR BURGLARY
Police were called to the parking lot of the Mariano's at 1822 Willow Road where a Lake Bluff resident explained someone had taken a cell phone left on the front seat of a parked car. The owner returned to find the phone missing and used tracking software to locate the stolen phone. It revealed an intoxicated elderly Northfield resident. The phone's owner did not wish to press charges.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 9:10 a.m. on Sept. 19 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the area of Sunset Ridge and Willow roads. He was also cited for use of an electronic device while driving.
A 36-year-old Wheeling man was arrested around 10 a.m. on Sept. 20 and charged with speeding 26 mph or more above the speed limit following a traffic stop in the 600 block of West Frontage Road.
