​Chicago Dance Therapy to Open in Northfield

Mobile movement therapy instructor Erica Hornthal will celebrate grand opening Thursday.

Northfield, IL - A movement therapy instructor who visits her Chicago-area clients at home will open a studio space in Northfield this week.

Erica Hornthal, founder and owner of Chicago Dance Therapy, will host an open house at the new space at 310 Happ Rd. from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23.

The grand opening will include a public tour and showcase of different movement therapies Hornthal uses for her clients coping with disease and anxiety.

Hornthal, a licensed professional clinical counselor and board certified dance/movement therapist, touts the importance of movement therapy.

“Dance/movement therapy can assist in symptom management, promotes self-awareness and identity, maintains a sense of control, builds psychological awareness and maintains social connections,” she said.
