Christmas 2018: Holiday Hours, Closures In Winnetka, Glencoe
What's open, what's closed, what's got special holiday hours from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day in Winnetka and Glencoe this year.

WINNETKA, IL — The home stretch of the holiday season has arrived, with one more weekend to get ready to kick off the final week of 2018 with Christmas Eve on Monday. North Shore communities are making preparations to observe both the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
Last-minute shoppers will be out picking up presents and ingredients for holiday meals, travelers will be on the roads and in the air to meet family and friends for the festive period and most students will be enjoying their winter break through the start of 2019.
First responders and employees at some businesses will be working on Christmas and New Year's, but many area employers will be closed to give workers a chance to gather to share the holiday with loved ones.

Here's a look at what's open and what's closed in Winnetka and Glencoe for Christmas and New Year's 2018.
Post office: Closed

Federal offices: Closed
Banks: Closed
Gas stations: Open
Village Hall: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Refuse Collection: In both Winnetka and Glencoe, all collection will be as usual except for Tuesday, which will take place on Wednesday on the week of Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Winnetka Public Schools, New Trier High School: Closed for winter break from Dec. 24 to Jan. 4.
Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District: Closed on Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1.
Glencoe Public Library: Closing at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24 and will remain closed on Dec. 25. The library will also close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 31 and be closed for New Year's Day.
Winnetka Park District: Offices closed Dec. 22-25, Dec. 29 to Jan. 1.
A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center: Closed Dec. 25, Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 1.
Winnetka Golf Club: Closed Dec. 23 to Jan. 3
Glencoe Park District: Closed Dec. 25, Jan. 1
Grocery stores: Most will be closed Christmas Day, some will be open and many will have adjusted hours. (For instance, Grand Food Centers will be open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Day, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year's Day)
