Community Engagement Wanted For Winnetka Public Schools' Master Plan
District 36 will hold public meetings for the "Future Ready D36" plan at local schools over the coming weeks.
WINNETKA, IL — Winnetka Public Schools District 36 announced the first round of community meetings to discuss Future Ready D36, the district's first master facility plan in 20 years. According to the district, Future Ready D36 is "a holistic process that will measure, validate, quantify and qualify opportunities to align the District’s school facilities, enrollment, and vision for teaching and learning to meet the needs of current and future students in a fiscally responsible manner."
Winnetka community members have been invited to engage in the Future Ready D36 process, starting with a series of meetings specific to facilities at each school. They are scheduled to begin in the final week of September, according to school officials.
Those that would like to become more formally involved in the initiative were invited to apply to serve on the Future Ready D36 Core Team, which will serve as a superintendent advisory committee consisting of teachers, administrators, community members, and a board member. The application includes an overview of the Core Team's duties and details on the time commitment involved during the coming school year. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 20.
