Concrete Panel Falls From Northfield Plaza Building

A 15,000-pound, 6-by-30 foot piece of masonry fell from one of the Northfield Plaza buildings last week. It was discovered on July 29.

Public access has been restricted at 1 and 2 Northfield Plaza, according to the Winnetka Talk. Reports indicate the piece of concrete fell from the third story.

“Since that time, we’ve been working with the building owner to ensure those buildings are safe before allowing them to be occupied,” said Steve Gutierrez, community development director for the village.
