Deadline For Senior Citizen Property Tax Exemptions For Tax Year 2016 Announced
The Cook County Assessor's office announced that renewal forms for 2016 Senior Citizen Exemptions will be mailed on January 9, 2017.

The Cook County Assessor’s office has announced that renewal forms for 2016 Senior Citizen Exemptions will be mailed on Monday, January 9, 2017. New Trier Township Assessor Jan Churchwell stated, “According to the Cook County Assessor’s office, renewals for the 2016 Senior Citizen Exemptions should be filed by Wednesday, February 8, 2017. If you are eligible and applying for a Senior Citizen Exemption for the first time, we recommend that you file your application within the same time frame to assure that it will be granted and deducted as part of your final 2016 tax bill.” The New Trier Township Assessor’s office will not have the 2016 Senior Citizen Exemption forms until Monday, January 9, 2017.
