Easter Egg Hunts: Winnetka, Glencoe and Northfield

"Eggstravaganzas" scheduled for next two weekends on the North Shore.

WINNETKA, IL — As North Shore communities prepare to mark Holy Week and Passover, and there are also family-friendly Easter Bunny-related activities scheduled to be held over the next two weekends. Northfield and Glencoe have scheduled their egg festivities for this weekend, while Winnetka holds its event next week. Most events have a BYOB (Bring Your Own Basket) policy and encourage attendees to arrive early to ensure participation.

Northfield's Eggstravaganza event will take place at Clarkson Park, located at 1950 New Willow Road. The event starts at 10:30 a.m. and the hunt begins promptly at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8. The egg hunt will be divided up into three age groups (ages 2-3, 4-5 and 6-7). One egg for each age group has a special grand prize award inside. Face painting and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny will also be available, according to Northfield Park District organizers.

Glencoe's egg hunt takes place at Watts Park, located at 305 Randolph Street on Saturday April 8. It will include three egg hunts for different age groups. Ages 0-3 will take place at 10 a.m., ages 4-5 will seek eggs at 10:15 a.m., while ages 6 and up are scheduled go at it at 10:30 a.m. At 10:45, the hounds will be released. Organizers reminded attendees to bring their cameras. After the hunt concludes, there will be crafts games and photos with the "Spring Bunny." The egg hunt will be relocated to the Takiff Center in case of bad weather.

Winnetka will hosting its 44th Annual Egg Hunt next Saturday, April 15 at West Elm Park, 1155 Elm Street. The event begins promptly at 10 a.m. After all eggs are found, "EB the Bunny" will be taking pictures with attendees. Winnetka Park District organizers promised all parents and children will also have an opportunity to to bounce around on inflatables and check out a live petting zoo. Children under three will be able to safety hunt for unfilled eggs in the "Bunnies-in-Training” pen. The event will be relocated to the Skokie School Gym in case of inclement weather.
