Welcome to Holes for Heroes™
The inaugural Holes for Heroes™ Midwest Golf Day will be held on September 12, 2011 at Crane’s Landing Club at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort. - Helping ease the pain of our "Hurting Heroes" recovering at Lovell Medical Center Great Lakes from injuries sustained in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and to those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Supporting the needs of Families and Children of Midwest region "Warriors Deployed" in war zones
- Supporting the Children and Families of our "Fallen Heroes"
We utilize the Rotary Club Foundation platform because it is trusted, 100% all-volunteers, No paid staff, No fixed overhead ensuring that 100% of the proceeds go to the beneficiary charities. 85% of the net proceeds raised goes to our Military serving Charities to support military personnel, children and families in our region. 15% goes towards related Humanitarian projects via the Winnetka-Northfield Rotary Foundation (501c3). In its short history, Holes for Heroes has raised more than $275,000 netting over $200,000!
We know there is no shortage of worthy events seeking your support. However, none, we believe, will provide you a more meaningful and 'up close and personal' opportunity to say "THANK YOU!" to our Midwest wounded military heroes and heroines, to their children, and families in need. Several combat Vets, some of whom were wounded, will join us for this important inaugural event.

In the words of the Armed Services YMCA, "The patients always have such a wonderful time participating. You treat them like guests of honor. We thank you for your kindness. Your support sends a message of care and gratitude to those who serve to keep us safe. We look forward to next year!"
In the words of one of our Heroes, "It's therapeutic, it's fun, and it's motivational. It's everything as good as it can be!" Or as one of our sponsors / participants said, "It is such a reality check to meet and honor these young people who have given so much, yet have a lifetime of contributions to life ahead of them. Thank you for introducing us to this fine event." And from another, "You've got a great thing going!"
