New research will demonstrate how Cued Speech (CS) can be integrated with the latest in technology and teaching techniques to accelerate and improve language development and speech perception. CS will be presented as a tool that easily works with any program for educating deaf children, including Total Communication, Listening and Spoken Language or ASL/English Bilingual.

Cued Speech is a proven communication system using visual information from speech-reading, combined with hand shapes and positions around the mouth to unambiguously represent all phonemes of spoken language.
Seminar topics range from insights on Auditory Neuropathy from the nation’s leading expert, Dr. Charles Berlin to an exploration of research supporting the use of Cued Speech with cochlear implantees, from
Jacqueline Leybaert, co-author of the 2010 book, Cued Speech and Cued Luanguage of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children.
