Family Service Of Glencoe Launches Search For New Director
Bill Hansen is stepping down in 2022 after seven years as executive director of the local nonprofit.

After nearly 7 years at the helm of Family Service of Glencoe (“FSG”), Bill Hansen (“Hansen”) announced he will be relocating with his wife to Asheville, North Carolina in 2022 and leaving his position as Executive Director of FSG. In collaboration with the FSG Executive Committee and staff, Hansen will lead the organization’s succession planning and transition management to ensure that the search for a new executive director is seamless, and that the organization will maintain its momentum into the remainder of its 2022 fiscal year.
Coming off the pandemic-related closures and heightened need for mental health services, social-emotional services, and an increased awareness for mental healthcare, FSG is more committed than ever to achieving its mission of promoting a stronger community by meeting individual and family needs through services that identify, prevent and resolve social and emotional problems. During his tenure, Hansen has built a strong, effective, and cohesive team of therapists, social workers, and administrators that have lasting connections within Glencoe. The team’s dedication to the FSG mission is the reason FSG has thrived over the years.
Through the teamwork of the Executive Committee and Hansen, FSG is excited to begin its search for its next executive director. Hansen will be involved in this process and guide our new director into this role. In collaboration with the FSG Board and staff, Hansen will ensure FSG services continue work toward the mission of helping others and the commitment to the Glencoe community during the transition.

All of us here at FSG are so grateful for Hansen’s leadership, as well as his compassion and commitment to the long-term success of FSG. As an organization, we are well-positioned to carry on Hansen’s legacy and to build on the foundation that he has put in place. We are excited to see what the future has in store for FSG, and we hope that you are too.
