Firm Hired to Find Solutions to Winnetka's Draining Issues
Strand Associates is tasked with finding alternatives to the recently dumped stormwater tunnel project.

The village of Winnetka has hired an engineering firm to find solutions to the drainage issues facing portions of the village that would have directly benefitted from a recently scratched stormwater tunnel project.
Strand Associates is tasked with that mission, according to the Daily North Shore. They were hired officially earlier this week at a cost of $256,050. The firm did not offer the lowest bid, but their experience led to the village board’s decision to choose them over 13 other bidders.
A representative from Strand said the firm would likely propose projects that combined innovative green solutions with more traditional stormwater control methods.
