Florida Woman Dies After Winnetka Traffic Crash

WINNETKA, IL — An elderly Florida woman died Monday from injuries she sustained in a traffic crash in Winnetka last weekend. Doris Notarius, 89, of Miami, was headed northbound on Green Bay Road near Oak Street around 8:25 p.m. Saturday when her vehicle left the road and smashed into a tree, police said. Emergency personnel took her to Evanston Hospital, where she was pronounced dead Monday at 12:15 p.m. Her death was ruled an accident due to multiple injuries sustained in the crash, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Winnetka police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
