Forgery Arrest, Stolen Paddle Board: Winnetka Crimes

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Winnetka Police Department as a record of police activity. IDENTITY THEFT

A victim on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue discovered that sometime between June 13 and June 26 someone used their personal information to open up an additional credit card in their existing account. There was no immediate reported loss.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

An employee of the park district reported that someone had damaged a hose valve in the 200 block of Sheridan sometime between June 15 and June 26. The estimated repair costs are $350.

THEFT

An officer reported around 11:30 a.m. on June 30 that street signs had been removed at the intersection of Oak Street and Provident Avenue. Public works was notified and replacement costs were estimated to be $125.

COMPUTER TAMPERING

A resident in the 700 block of Walden Road reported that around 3 p.m. on June 23, someone had accessed their computer on fraudulent circumstances and demanded fees for repair services. There was no immediate reported loss.

THEFT

Someone stole an unsecured paddle board from a storage rack in the 700 block of Sheridan Road at Lloyd Beach sometime between June 25 and July 1, police were told. The reported loss was $899.

ARREST

FORGERY/WARRANT

Tequila M. Cole, 27, of the first block of North Mayfield Avenue in Chicago, was arrested for forgery shortly before 1 p.m. at the Winnetka Police Department. The arrest was made following an investigation into a series of forged business checks at multiple Cook County banks in February of 2017, police said.
