Halloween Safety Tips From the Village of Glencoe
The village has some suggestions on how to have safe fun on October 31.

The village of Glencoe has provided the following tips when it comes to Halloween safety.
- Makeup instead of masks; it’s more comfortable and doesn’t obstruct the vision the masks can.
Check to ensure that costumes are flame-retardant.
Wear well-fitting shoes to avoid trips and falls.
Avoid costumes that drag on the ground.
Have each child carry or wear something lit, such as a flashlight, glow bracelet or necklace or flashing attire for visibility. At least one person in each group should carry a flashlight.
Think “practical” over “cute” when picking a trick or treat goody bag or container.
Review the route for Trick-or-Treating beforehand and set a time when kids should be home. Also, have a plan if your child gets separated from the group. A responsible adult or older teen should accompany each group.
Only trick or treat at houses that are lit.
Watch for traffic, obey all traffic signs, look before crossing the street, and never cross between parked cars or in the middle of the block.
Trick-or-Treat hours in Glencoe will be Saturday, October 31 from 2:-5:30 p.m.
