PEER Services, Inc.

PEER Services is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. PEER Services provides community-based substance use prevention and treatment services to teens, adults and families in Northern Cook County, including Evanston, Maine, New Trier, Niles and Northfield Townships, and the north side of Chicago. PEER Services reduces the harms of substance use, addiction and stigma by engaging youth and adults with innovative prevention programming and by supporting people on their path to recovery through holistic, evidence-based treatment. We provide affirming services to all in need, regardless of their ability to pay. Our Programs: Adult Treatment: •	Individual &amp; Group Counseling •	Intensive Outpatient Program •	Medication-Assisted Recovery for Heroin, Opioid Use or Alcohol Use Disorders •	Case Management •	DUI Risk Education &amp; Aftercare •	Alcohol and Other Drug Evaluations •	Recovery Support Specialists •	Recovery Oriented Systems of Care Coalition •	Substance Use Crisis Support at The Living Room (Evanston) •	Partnerships with the United States Probation Office and the Cook County Skokie Court House through our Second Chances Program Adolescent Treatment: •	Early intervention education •	Individual counseling •	Family Support Prevention Services: PEER Services prevention department partners with schools, local non-profit organizations, businesses, local coalitions, and others to help support the community to act as a united front in substance use prevention (SUP) and mental health support. We provide presentations, trainings, and resources for youth, parents, community members, local organizations, and other community entities on topics such as Alcohol, Cannabis, Current substance trends, Fentanyl, Life Skills Training, Decision Making, Peer Pressure, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Opioid Overdose, Prescription Medications, Tobacco, and Vaping

The following obituary is courtesy of Donnellan Family Funeral Services. Harriet Gellar passed away, September 6, 2015, age 93, as gracefully as she lived. Beloved wife of the late Robert Gellar and Edward Holmgren. Loving mother of Elizabeth (Robert) Golden and James Gellar. Proud grandmother of Adam (Jamie) and Benjamin Golden, Molly, Amanda and Wiley Gellar. Dear great grandmother of Emilee and Madalin Golden, who brought a twinkle to her eye. Harriet danced through life with a song in her heart. She had a love and joy of teaching that she shared with generations of students. She was a professional teacher for over 52 years in the Winnetka Public Schools and many years of volunteering at Marillac House and Good News Partners in Chicago. Her mastery of developing a student's skills in reading was a gift she shared with many. She was a citizen of the world and relished creating a love of learning in others. Her selfless caring and compassion for left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. A life well lived! A Life Celebration will be held for family and friends in the near future.
