Have an Idea for Winnetka? Put it on the Chalkboard

Village officials want ideas for downtown. They want you to put them on two chalkboards installed in the town's business districts.

It’s back to the chalkboard in a literal sense for the village of Winnetka.

And that’s not a bad thing, just a really unique and fun way to solicit ideas from those with an interest in the future of the downtown area.

Two “interactive idea boards” were installed in village business districts on Friday, according to a village news release. One is on the east side of Green Bay Road, just north of Gage Street in the Hubbard Woods district, and the other in West Elm, on the west side of Chestnut Street, south of the Elm Street intersection.

The boards include the phrase “I would (love) to see _____ in Downtown.”

Residents, businesses, visitors and all Village stakeholders are invited to contribute their thoughts on the outdoor chalkboards through the end of November. Ideas contributed will be recorded daily before the boards are cleaned for more feedback. Chalk is available beneath each board.

Photos of the boards will be recorded weekly by Teska Associates, the village’s downtown master plan consultant.
