Helping Hand Offered At Bernie's Book Bank

Junior League of Evanston-North Shore organizes its second annual event to extend book ownership to at-risk Chicagoland kids.

WINNETKA-GLENCOE, IL - From the Junior League of Evanston-North Shore: Nearly 40 Junior League of Evanston-North Shore members, friends, and family gathered in Lake Bluff to assist Bernie’s Book Bank achieve their mission to collect, process and distribute quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.

The Done in a Day committee of JLE-NS organized the popular event to help Bernie’s achieve their goal of reaching over 300,000 children per year and along with the Junior League’s focus on supporting families.

Members of JLE-NS along with their friends and family aided Bernie’s by sorting, organizing, stickering, and preparing books for distribution. This is the JLE-NS’s second year hosting this event.
