The Journey Of A Powerful Friendship
Roland's Story: Inspired By A Stroke. A Memoir Of Hope, Healing & Transformation.
There was nothing like my friendship with Roland Takaoka.
We met after one of my "Difference Makers" online video shows, and from that first compelling conversation, we became instant buddies. Roland volunteered to help me with my websites, and served tirelessly as my wingman on my future "Difference Makers" shows. He helped train guests on the tech requirements before every program, and monitored the comment stream for our livestreaming broadcasts.
Most people never knew that Roland had a stroke, or that his entire right side was paralyzed. He was the most positive person I knew. Always smiling. And always aware that we choose our attitudes in life. So he consciously decided to "expand in joy."

Whenever I needed a friend, a listening ear, I could click on the Google Hangouts button in my computer, and if he was around, Roland would connect with me... typing with his left hand or clicking on the video icon so we could see each other. Over the four years, my husband Joel and I traveled out to Rancho Santa Margarita, California, just to be with him and his wife, Barbara Peeters.
Unfortunately, without warning, Roland suddenly passed away from a fourth stroke on August 23rd, 2018. You can find a "Get Well, Roland Takaoka" program on my website, along with a memorial tribute at: www.DifferenceMakersMedia.com. Roland was like Yoda in Star Wars to me. So wise. So funny. So caring about everyone.

Roland left behind an inspirational memoir, written after his third stroke, which I've renamed, "Roland's Story: Inspired By A Stroke. A Memoir of Hope, Healing & Transformation."
I've created a crowdfunding site on Indiegogo to raise money in covering the book's production, printing and promotion. I'm also hoping to gather additional funds to provide financial support to Roland's widow for medical expenses. Roland's Story offers humor, joy and inspiration and can help so many stroke survivors, their families and others affected by physical challenges. Sponsorship opportunities are available to those who'd like to be included in this book's publicity and outreach.
