Judith Pilkinton Rosauer, age 77, of Glencoe, IL died on November 30, 2015. Beloved wife of Bernard C. Rosauer; loving mother of Ursula Anne (John) Smedly and Alicia Marie Rosauer (Robert) Segal; dear grandmother of Abigail Beatrice and Emily Dorothy Segal. Her life was the embodiment of silent nobility, unlimited artistic talents, and an unquenchable love for her family.
She received her BFA and MFA from University of Michigan in Painting and Art Education and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. Starting at the age of twenty she began teaching art to middle school students in the Plymouth school districts. After marrying, Bernard and Judy moved to Glencoe. While raising their two girls Judy taught art at Baker Demonstration School before retiring. She was an impressionable teacher to her many students throughout the years.
Since 1968 Judy was an active member of The Woman’s Library Club of Glencoe. She held the honor of President and received numerous awards from the Club recognizing her above and beyond dedication. She also committed years of service to the Glen Cote Thrift Shop as part of her philanthropic efforts towards the Club.
She was known for her artistic ability, hospitality, knowledge of everything and a wonderful sense of humor. Judy had a natural and uncontrived personality and enormous ability to connect with people. Her loves were her grandchildren, cooking, art and design, fashion, nature, the Glencoe Beach, football, basketball, hockey and the music of Edith Piaf. She embodied a sense of class that is so rare.
Judith was also proud to have survived breast cancer.
Her valiant life will be cherished by all who knew her. Guided by the Hand of God she entered into Heaven’s peace.
