Kenilworth School Remains Open in Cold

Joseph Sears School invited students at other schools to join them in braving the conditions.

The bitter cold may have been too much for most schools on the North Shore to hold regularly scheduled activities, but students at Kenilworth’s Joseph Sears School braved the conditions and kept on trucking on.

The Winnetka Talk reported Wednesday that the school “not only opened as usual...but invited teachers and staff whose children’s own schools had closed to bring them to Sears.”

Sunset Ridge School District 29, which serves children in Northfield, also kept its doors opened, the Talk reported.
