Lakeside Foods Has New Owners
But changes aren't expected at the grocery store that's called Winnetka home for nearly 60 years.

WINNETKA, IL - Lakeside Foods, one of the North Shore’s longest running local grocery stores, has new owners. Tammy Koh purchased the local favorite at 800 Elm Street with her husband Cheng from Brian and Terri Geraghty, according to the Daily North Shore.
Described on Google as a “quaint grocery with a small-town vibe,” Lakeside has been a staple in the community for years. It began in 1958 by founder Archie Gaudreau.
Koh told the DNS she does not plan on changing anything. All employees will be retained and the only changes that will come will be the result of customer’s request.

“We came to this store and liked the people. We hoped the store could keep going for the historical value of Winnetka,” Tammy Koh said.
She also noted the iconic nature of the Elm Street building that holds the store.

“I understand that this building is iconic in Winnetka, and so as long as it is safe to be here, we won’t make any major structural changes,” she said.
